Up to three clock sources can be specified on the Liberator. The primary clocks would normally be a PRI interface from the Carrier.

If the primary clock source fails Liberator will automatically source clock from the secondary clock and switch back to the primary when it returns.

Alarms are generated.

Liberator also has an internal 35ppm clock source.
