ANSWERS TO FAQ's

Q Can I use Liberator as a drop & insert mux?

A

The flexibility of the Liberator means it can be used in a number of “traditional” Drop & Insert (D&I) applications, plus some interesting new ones with switch ability.

When configured with three E1 interfaces the Liberator becomes a low-cost D&I mux which can support two local G.704 DTEs over a single G.703 or G.704 line. If the line is already structured to G.704 Liberator will work with the framing, if it is a G.703 line the pair of Liberators themselves will structure the link.

Configuring the network link as an ISDN port means local switched services such as PRI and BRI ISDN can also be routed over the trunk. This application is illustrated here.

The flexibility and options made available by the Liberator makes it difficult to cover every possible use and application. If you need any help the please do contact us or use the on-line contact form.
